The Stage was Set
All the members were there and my parents were visiting as well! (middle left)
To begin, I spoke with them about my experience since arriving to Madrid
and also about American Culture.
Then I got to work.
I also sang a lot of American Standards that they would know like Frank
Sinatra's version of "Fly Me to the Moon"
It was a really fun night of cultural exchange. They want me to come
back and play again towards the end of the year when I have a Flamenco Repetoire!
This month I also helped found a Rotaract Club in Madrid! This our first
meeting where we all signed the charter! For those of you who are unfamiliar
with Rotary, a Rotaract Club consists of young adults ages 18-30.There are
Rotaract Clubs in every city in the world and if you are looking for a way to
do service, meet like minded people and have fun, contact your Local Rotaract Club!
This is Tommaso Virdia, 2001-02 Rotary Governor for District 2200 (half of Spain).
He's the force behind this new Rotaract Club!
This is Emilio Castelo, he's the Rotaract President this year.
This is Yamel (from Mexico), me and Carlos (from Venezuela) outside after
the Rotaract Meeting. It's getting cold in Madrid!
It's going to be a fun year with them!
