Greetings Rotary Club, Family and Friends! It’s been a very busy month here in November with school, practicing flamenco guitar, my second Rotary Speech, Madrid-Serrano Rotaract and even a little traveling! At the beginning of the month I went to Salamanca and captured a lot of photos of Spanish History and Art. Knowing about the past has really helped me understand the present out here in Europe. I hope you enjoy these pictures of Salamanca, it’s truly a distinct city. I also spent my first Thanksgiving outside of the good ole U.S.A and it was the perfect opportunity to share some American Culture. It was fun introducing Thanksgiving to my friends, please find the pictures below. In the same set of photos I’ve included shots of some experiences just living in Madrid. Dominoes with Felix, Trading Soccer Cards with Jorge, Carlos playing in the Plaza and eating fine Columbian Ants (a delicacy)! For the third set of photos, I hope you enjoy some moments of my Flamenco Education. I’ve been taking lessons for a few months now and I’m starting to “get the rhythm”. As an ADDED BONUS THIS MONTH…… I have figured out a way to record short video clips and put them on the internet from Spain so you can all watch them! I had the perfect opportunity with the Escuela de Musica Creativa Big Band. We had a concert in “Clamores”, a famous jazz club in Madrid and I recorded a clip of some fine jazz for you all to see! All you have to do is click on the link at the bottom of the "Flamenco Education and the EMC Big Band Video Clip" page and the video will come up (even if you have a dial up connection)! To close for the month, I have put up pictures of my 2nd Rotary Speech and information on how high school students can study abroad with Rotary. If you know anyone between the ages of 15-19 and they want to study anywhere abroad, check out the link at the bottom. I met some kids from the U.S. that are having a BLAST living with Spanish Families! This month I also made a friend from Iraq. I’d like to thank Rotary International once again for giving out these types of scholarships to hundreds of students all over the world. It really does improve world relations. I hope you all enjoy the pictures! ![]() ARCHIVES September 2003 Pictures October 2003 Pictures November 2003 Pictures December 2003 Pictures January 2004 Pictures February 2004 Pictures March 2004 Pictures April 2004 Pictures May 2004 Pictures June 2004 Pictures |
