Greetings Rotary Club Family and Friends!
January was a month marked by getting things done at school and with Rotary.
To start off the month I had a concert with another school group at a great club in Madrid called “Café Del Foro”. It’s a group that specializes in straight ahead hard bop jazz. I’ve also included a short video of a guitar solo on the song "Moments Notice." I hope you enjoy the pictures!
This month was also big for our Madrid-Serrano Rotaract Club because we held our first event of the year. It was a conference to educate the public on spinal cord injuries and the daily things we can do to keep ourselves out of danger. Our speaker was a tetraplegic man named Gustavo Almela and his story was very powerful.
For a cultural feature this month, I decided to visit “El Palacio Real”, the Royal Palace of Spain with my Spanish brother Jorge. We had a great Saturday afternoon and took lots of pictures of the Royal Mansion, the amazing paintings, the statues, the royal armory and much more.
And finally, I took advantage of Super Bowl Sunday as an opportunity to share a bit of American Culture with my friends. The game started around 12:30 in the morning and we were there until the end at 5 AM! It was a ton of fun and now we have a few more American Football fans out here.
All in all, it was a fun month and I really hope you all enjoy the pictures!
